ACTIVITIES TO MARK WORLD CANCER DAY

Each year an estimated 12.7 million people discover they have cancer and 7.6 million people die from the disease However, evidence shows that 30-40 percent of these deaths can be prevented,one-third can be cured through early diagnosis and treatment however,4.7 million people have survived cancer. 
      studies have shown that the high rising mortality rate of cancer victims is due to lack of awareness and that is why the 4th of february is a day when millions of people unite worldwide in a fight against cancer.
       This year's theme for world cancer day is 'We Can,I Can.Many activities have been outlined to mark this day,these are a few of them.You can locate the nearest one to you yo attend and contribute.WE CAN,I CAN!

KADUNA STATE
 Event: Free Cervical, Prostate & Breast Cancer Screening on

 Event Description;
You are invited to join over over 2000 people to walk against cancer on the streets of Abuja, over 50 cyclists to ride for 10km, over 150 runners (on a Marathon) who will race for 21km. While over 3000 people will receive FREE BREAST, CERVICAL AND PROSTATE CANCER SCREENINGS.

2. NGO To Offer Free Cancer Screening For Abuja Residents
        An Abuja-based non governmental organisation, Gynae Care Research and Cancer Foundation, will be offering free cancer education, free cervical & breast cancer screening for over 200 women, and prostate cancer screening for 100 men, as part of its activities to commemorate the 2017 World Cancer Day.
