Abuja residents lived up to expectations as they flooded various recreational parks within Abuja city to celebrate Christmas,however,most parks were either almost empty or empty as people rushed for the popular millennium park located at Maitama,Abuja.

The crowd was massive, from across the road, one can smell the joy and excitement in the air as people scramble into the park to have some fun,Children,all dressed up in new and crispy clothings clamouring for a glimpse at Santa who is referred to as Father Christmas in Nigeria,Parents holding unto their children's hands tight to ensure they don't go missing in the crowd,adolescents,engaged in one competition or another,security personnel on patrol to ensure the safety of everyone in sight.Fun activities were lined up for the celebrations like: Swimming for kids,Horse riding.Tennis,Dance Competition and so many others.This could be the reason why the roads in and around Abuja city were deserted.
